WHAT JOE WILSON'S LIES HAVE WROUGHT

MSNBC: Bush Says Libby Verdict Should Be Respected

Translation: Looks like Bush will be pardoning Libby after all.

A SMALL, DISHEARTENING TRAGEDY IN IRAQ

9 more of our people died in Iraq today. And another 3 are now being sent into the VA Gulag of of Contempt and Neglect.

Is it OK if I really don't give a damn that a few Shias and Sunnis have managed to sit and talk to each other?

COULTER FATIGUE

Coulter is political pornography, plain and simple.

POLLSTERS FINALLY STARTING TO ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS ON IRAQ

Interesting. The polls say Americans want to succeed in Iraq, but they also do not think that the current leadership is capable of achieving that goal.

So perhaps Bush's inability to climb out of the 30s approval-wise this year has more to do with his screwing things up than the actual fact of the war itself?

One thing is for sure, 4 years of this administration's failures in Iraq hardly means that the American people have lost their taste for success.

GOP APOSTATES: DO THEY DESERVE THE HEAVE HO?

When this Victory Caucus talks about aiding the men and women of our military, I don't suppose that would mean discussing the Walter Reed situation. Or, for that matter, the Bush mandated cuts in veterans benefits.

No, probably not. This does smack of more bogus guilt-tripping by the right, however. Pretty standard fare these days.

Kind of a crazy idea if you think about it. Supporting our military people is the same as supporting the failed military policies George W. Bush.

Kind of like saying you support

A ROCK, A HARD PLACE, AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA

If Bush had actually won the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, would we even be having this conversation?

It is now 4 years, half a trillion dollars plus thousands of American casualties later, and we have nothing to show for it.

What will it take for some people to finally admit that this administration has failed?

WAPO SLAMS MURTHA'S "SLOW BLEED THE TROOPS" PLAN

You know what is sad here? If Bush had actually managed to win this war we wouldn't be having this conversation.

And now it has all come to garbage like this.

STRANGER THAN FICTION: DOES 24 INSPIRE REAL LIFE TORTURE?

The only torture I've experienced regarding 24 came from trying to watch it.

Network "prime time" TV remains a vast wasteland. Gratuitous scenes of abuse and torture will hardly change that.

RUDY AND THE RIGHT

Somehow I think some of Rudy's cross-dressing videos aren't going to resonate with 'values conservatives' either. Check this one out:

I just wish Newt would announce. McCain is too old and too tired, and Rudy will in the end be an embarrassment.

ARKIN: IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED...

The notion that someone who wishes to keep our troops in Iraq is also a friend of our military people there is a laughable one.

This war was a terrible blunder from the beginning, and it is time to cut our losses and rebuild. It is hardly the fault of our fighting men that Bush's madness has in the end only empowered Iran, so why should they be asked to die for it?
